Our Mission & Architecture

Private by Architecture, Free Forever

Small-PDF.pro was built to solve a fundamental privacy flaw in modern web utilities: the dangerous requirement that you must upload confidential documents to remote cloud servers just to convert or resize them.

Why "Zero Upload" Matters

100% Client-Side Memory Execution

Most "free online PDF" sites are cloud intermediaries. When you drop a file on their page, your document is transmitted over the internet to a remote server. The remote machine writes your file to temporary disk storage, invokes a command-line script, and sends a download link back. Even if they promise to delete your file within an hour, your tax records, medical files, or bank statements sit vulnerable on an unknown machine.

Small-PDF.pro rejects this cloud model entirely. When you visit our website, your browser downloads lightweight, self-hosted WebAssembly (Wasm) and JavaScript modules once. All image processing, rotation, compression, and PDF generation takes place directly inside your device's memory. Your files never touch our servers, never leave your local hardware, and never cross the wire.

Our Engineering Principles

1. Zero Data Collection

We do not require user accounts, email registration, or phone verification. We do not store your files because our servers are physically unable to receive them.

2. Transparent Monetization

We never lock your documents behind artificial trial limits or require monthly credit card subscriptions. We sustain our infrastructure through non-intrusive standard web advertising.

3. Self-Hosted Privacy

All vendor engines (jsPDF, pdf.js, heic2any) are strictly self-hosted on our own high-speed servers. We do not call third-party CDNs that track your browsing habits.

4. Green Low-Carbon Compute

By offloading file rasterization to client devices, our server architecture consumes 95% less electrical power and CPU cycles than conventional cloud PDF rendering farms.

Testing Laboratory & Hardware Testbed

Testing Laboratory & Hardware Testbed

We rigorously benchmark document performance, memory safety, and rendering fidelity across real-world devices.

Our Reference Hardware Testbed

Every tool and compression algorithm is validated against a multi-platform device matrix: Apple MacBook Air M2 (16 GB unified RAM, Safari 17), Apple iPhone 15 Pro (A17 Pro, iOS 17.5), Google Pixel 8 Pro (Google Tensor G3, Chrome Mobile), and Dell XPS 15 (Intel Core i7-13700H, Windows 11 Pro).

Standardized Evaluation Datasets

Our test suite utilizes photographic test charts, high-frequency fine text documents, multi-page financial ledgers, and mixed-gamut RAW camera files (sRGB, Display P3, Adobe RGB) ranging from 1 MB to 120 MB per asset.

Client-Side Security Sandbox Verification

Small-PDF.pro is built on zero-trust privacy. You do not have to take our word for it—you can verify zero network data transmission yourself in seconds.

1. Open Developer Tools: Press F12 (or right-click anywhere and select Inspect) in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
2. Select the Network Tab: Click on the "Network" panel and ensure the filter is set to "Fetch/XHR" or "All".
3. Convert a Document: Drag photos into any Small-PDF.pro tool and click "Generate PDF".
4. Observe 0 Outbound Bytes: Notice that no POST requests, file uploads, or tracking beacons are dispatched. All processing happens entirely within your local device RAM.

Editorial Integrity & Testing Standards

Our technical guides and benchmark results follow rigorous engineering protocols with zero commercial bias.

All technical recommendations are grounded in established document specifications: ISO 32000-1 (PDF standard), W3C WebAssembly specifications, and ICC color profile management standards.

Small-PDF.pro maintains strict editorial independence. We do not accept paid software endorsements or sponsored reviews. All testing scripts, benchmark charts, and utility calculators are created solely to empower users with transparent, private document workflows.
