Privacy Policy & Zero-Upload Guarantee

Effective Date: January 1, 2026 | Last Updated: September 23, 2026

The Small-PDF.pro Zero-Upload Guarantee

We do not collect, view, transmit, or store your documents, photos, or files. All file conversions, formatting, rotations, and redactions occur entirely inside your browser's local sandbox memory using client-side JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files never touch our servers.

1. Introduction

Small-PDF.pro ("we," "our," or "us") is dedicated to providing high-speed, accessible PDF utility tools while respecting your fundamental right to digital privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines what information is collected when you browse our website, how third-party services operate, and your rights under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and related privacy laws.

2. Document and File Processing Architecture

Unlike conventional cloud-based PDF conversion platforms, Small-PDF.pro operates on a 100% Client-Side Architecture:

  • When you drop or select files on any tool page, your device executes self-hosted WebAssembly and JavaScript engines locally.
  • No file binaries, image streams, or extracted text are uploaded to our web servers, edge proxies, or cloud databases.
  • When you close your browser tab, all temporary data held in browser memory is immediately and permanently erased by your operating system.
  • Because we never receive your files, we cannot view, copy, leak, share, or sell your documents to any third party.

3. Information We Collect Automatically

When you access Small-PDF.pro, our web hosting servers automatically record standard web server request logs. This information includes:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address;
  • Browser type and version;
  • Operating system platform;
  • Referring URL and requested page resources;
  • Date and time stamp of access.

We use these technical server logs strictly to maintain server stability, prevent automated denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, detect malicious security probes, and diagnose server software errors. Server access logs are automatically rotated and deleted after 30 days.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device to retain user preferences. Small-PDF.pro uses cookies and local storage in two distinct categories:

  • Essential Functional Cookies: We store small, non-identifying keys in your browser local storage to remember your preferred interface language (e.g., `spd_lang`) and your cookie banner consent preference (`spd_cookie_consent`). These do not track your personal identity.
  • Third-Party Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense): We partner with Google AdSense to serve advertisements that support the free operation of our service. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.

5. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising Disclosures

Google and its advertising partners use cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your visit to Small-PDF.pro and other sites on the internet.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting AboutAds.info.

6. European Union Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have specific statutory rights under the GDPR, including:

  • Right of Access: The right to request copies of your personal data.
  • Right to Rectification: The right to request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to Erasure: The right to request deletion of personal data ("Right to be Forgotten").
  • Right to Restrict Processing: The right to object to or limit the processing of your data.
  • Right to Data Portability: The right to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Because Small-PDF.pro does not collect user accounts or store documents, we do not maintain personal user databases. For inquiries regarding server log retention or cookie preferences, please contact our Data Protection desk.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

We do not sell personal information. We do not monetize user documents or personal identifiers. Any sharing of data with advertising networks occurs through standard cookie consent frameworks as described in Section 5.

8. Children's Online Privacy Protection (COPPA & FERPA)

Small-PDF.pro does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Because our tools process files entirely on the client's device with zero server storage, educators and students may safely use Small-PDF.pro in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) without transferring student records to our infrastructure.

9. External Links

Our articles and guides may contain links to external reference websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect technological advancements or regulatory revisions. Any updates will be posted on this page with an amended "Last Updated" date.
